Just a week after Villars. The 9th round of the 2023 IFSC world cup took place in Chamonix, France. A resort area located at the base of Mont Blanc, the highest summit in the Alps.

Toby Roberts had been making a name for himself in 2023. At just 18 years old, Toby had already won his first gold in bouldering at Brixen. And in Chamonix, he was the only man to top in the final and won his first lead gold medal.

IFSC Chamonix Women’s Lead Finals Result
The women’s final again ended in controversy. This time it was, Chaehyun Seo. Seo made a mistake by clipping the quickdraw in the wrong sequence before rectifying it. After she rectified the error the judges still ruled against her and she was told to stop climbing and lowered down to the ground. However, it was Jain Kim’s night winning her third gold medal in Chamonix. She proved that she can still climb at an elite level after taking a 2 years leave of absence from competitive climbing.
