IFSC Wujiang 2023 World Cup
Finally, we’ve reached the last IFSC World Cup of 2023. Wujiang China has an all-new indoor climbing facility for this event. Most top climbers had decided to sit out this last event. But the Japanese team has a huge contingent and the lead final result shows.
IFSC Wujiang Men’s Lead Finals Result
With 5 out of the 8 finalists coming from team Japan, it is very likely we’ll see at least one of them on the podium. But with such a strong group along with the newly crowned overall Lead World Cup winner Sorato Anraku, an all-Japanese podium is on the cards.
The final’s lead route was tough. Most climbers fell two-thirds of the way up finishing with 30 points and below. Sorato was the only climber to climb past 30 points winning the last Lead World Cup of 2023 in convincing fashion.
Sorato Anraku in his first year competing at the senior level at just 16 years old had won 4 World Cup gold, 1 for bouldering and 3 for lead. He finished the 2023 season as the overall World Cup winner in both Bouldering and Lead.
